• M A N D A L A S  is an original project by Ewa Nowacka-Piechowiak combining her art with design.
• Mandalas to ENJOY is the name of the original painting series composed of unconventional mandalas, reflecting the author's intentions and message: THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

Through the suggestive name and the non-standard construction of the author's mandalas (drawn from the subconscious and painted on canvas), the artist indicates the joyful nature of her works and the willingness to share their optimistic message with others.

Despite many more or less overt references to the wisdom of ancient traditions, her work is devoid of any religious context. It is characterized by lightness and optimism, and its essence is recognition of the divine element of the human mind - its ability to shape reality and realize the impossible.

By encouraging individual interpretation of her mandalas the artist builds a cross-cultural bridge between the imagination of creator, recipient's sensivity and original idea of mandala itself - as a circle of life - derived from Hinduism and developed by Buddhist monks thousands of years ago.

Her exhibitions are multisensual experiences, where painting is combined with music, singing and movement. The fiery dance and sound are the key elements that put mandala creations into highly energetic vibrations.

Since 2017, she has been transferring her paintings to art objects, jewellery and clothing.

Ewa Nowacka-Piechowiak, artist, painter, motivator, pedagogue, graphic and jewellery designer, author of the Mandalas to ENJOY painting serie and ART-to-wear collection inspired by her original mandalas; owner and creator of the  M A N D A L A S  brand 

• She has been involved in art since childhood; from the age of 9, she attended drawing, painting, ceramics and tapestry classes organized by the city's cultural center; from the age of 15 she took private lessons from professors of the Academy of Fine Arts and attended several art courses;
• As a teenager, she successfully sold her colorful pictures, mainly drawn with oil crayons, artistic dresses (which she created together with her mother) and hand-made jewellery at one of the then popular galleries of applied arts in Poznań; she was creating pendants with mandalas made of salt mass and hand-bent wire, which she fired in a home stove, then decorated and varnished; with joy she observed girls whose necks and rooms were decorated with her works;
• She completed MA studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań and post-graduate studies at the Poznań University of Economics, graduating both universities with distinction;
• Privately, a wife and mother of two sons. A keen cyclist and a plant collector. Apart from painting, her greatest passions are singing, dancing and yoga. She's also interested in the automotive industry (In 2010, she wrote a postgraduate thesis on the super-luxury car market, detailing the Bentley brand). She likes experimenting in the kitchen and capture the delights in photos. Her favorite sports are badminton and chess. She loves sunsets and spends every possible moment enjoying nature. She lives and works in a picturesque place in a green part of the city of Poznań, Poland.

The fact that makes me happy the most is that from the very beginning of their existence these, even for me, surprising mandalas bring people a lot of joy by instilling in them the belief that nothing is impossible. For several years, they have also been an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a starting point for unconventional projects and non-standard activities on the border of art & design. They attracted many great people to my life and flooded the world with color. Who knows, where else will they lead me...?

A mandala land of elephants and mangoes

As is often the case in the artistic world, history has come full circle in a quite unusual way. A random (?) meeting at the 2020 Fashion Fair in Poznań gave rise to an extraordinary acquaintance, which over time turned into a true Polish-Indian friendship, and than into fruitful cooperation. And this is how the cross-cultural mandalas made in Poland went to the cradle of the mandala tradition. 

The designer's cooperation with excellent craftsmen from the land of elephants and mangos gave rise to the original ART-to-wear collection by M A N D A L A S, which includes short and limited series of artistic jewelry, clothes and accessories.
